Benue Cement Company (BCC.LG) posted a 205 percent rise in pretax profit to 14.44 billion naira ($96 million) in the full year to December compared with the previous period, the firm said on Thursday.

Turnover at the firm, controlled by local private conglomerate Dangote Group, soared to 35.02 billion naira from 16.45 billion naira in the same period of 2008, the company said in a filing to the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Benue Cement also proposed a 1 naira dividend per share.
