Intercontinental Bank Plc has won the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s Clearing House awards for 2010, emerging as the overall best clearing bank, most error free settlement and punctual bank awards in Akure, Ilorin and Makurdi zones.

The bank won the awards after CBN’s critical assessment of transactions by banks for the year 2010.

A statement issued by the bank noted that its Akure representative also won the best dressed male clearing house award, lending credence to its renewed determination to excel in all business frontiers.

The bank in accepting the CBN awards, commended its numerous customers for making the feat possible, promising to continuously delight them with efficient customer-friendly products and services.

It would be recalled that the management of the bank at its just concluded annual management seminar, initiated strategic deliverables to reposition its service delivery and improve its bottom-line. At the seminar, Mr. Mahmoud Lai Alabi, the Group Managing Director/ Chief Executive had hinted that the future of the bank would be linked with a new retail banking model that would set the pace in the banking industry.

In achieving the vision, Alabi said that the Bank would review its retail strategy, pay greater attention to customer-friendly products deployment, driven by e-banking and backed by efficient service delivery at all levels.

The bank had in 2009 won the CBN Lokoja Clearing House Award after it was adjudged the bank with the Highest Value of Transaction in Kogi State. This was based on punctuality as recorded on CBN’s register, error-free transactions, number of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in the zone and overall outstanding performer in all other categories of awards won.
