Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory [FCT], Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and two others have been formally arraigned before a federal high court in Abuja on an 8- count charge bordering on alleged irregular revocation and re-allocation of a parcel of land originally belonging to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria [PHCN].
Mallam El-Rufai and the two others who pleaded not guilty to the charges were however granted bail by Justice Adamu Bello in the sum of 100million Naira each and a surety in like sum.
While adjourning the case to June 22, for trial, Justice Bello ordered that the sureties must have landed properties worth one hundred million naira within the jurisdiction of the court.
The other two accused persons are the Director General, Abuja Geographic Information System [AGIS], Mrs. Altine Jubrin and the General Manager of the agency, Ismail Iro.
While efforts to speak to the prosecutor, Mr. Adebayo Adelodun proved abortive as he left the court shortly after the ruling of the court, lawyer representing the third accused person, Chief Kanu Agabi simply declined commenting on the case.
The former minister returned to the country about a fortnight ago after two years in self-exile.
