The Executive and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) officials were attacked by thugs allegedly hired by the President of Keke Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (KORAN), Alhaji Bashiru Akinola.
The EFCC team was led by one Mr. Katungo to effect the arrest of Mr. Akintola and Mrs. Esther Ogunbanjo, over a controversial factory, which was reported by members of (KORAN) to be built with the profit realized from 5,000 tri-cycle distribution contract awarded to KORAN in 2008. According to them, instead of the factory bearing KORAN Company, it was registered with Trimidan Company, which was allegedly to be owned by Akintola and Esther Ogunbanjo.
"EFCC visited the factory at Ijoko Gasline Area of Sango Ota but immediately Akintola and Esther felt our present at the Cycle Assembly Plant, they locked themselves up inside." said an EFCC official.

After several hours, when they refused to come out, the EFCC officials were said to have gone after them to effect their arrest when Akintola called some suspected thugs, who attack the EFCC men.
The head of the team, whose name cannot be identified stood his ground saying he would not leave the premises without Akintola being arrested. But the quick intervention of the Ijoko Ota Royal father saved the situation, who an undertaken on behalf of the duo that he would produce them on Monday.
In swift reaction Akintola, said there was no form of any attacks on the EFCC agents.
He said the EFCC officials came to arrest him late in the night without warrant of arrest. "The officials followed me to the Oba Palace, Where we settled the case, I commended the monarch wisdom in settling dispute.
