The two Orientals alleged to have imported one of the largest hauls of cocaine into the country have been arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, South West Nigeria.

The two men, Fone Chiu Sen, a Taiwanese national and Richard Wang, from China were on Monday August 16, brought before Justice Okon Abang along with three Nigerian agents, for importing 450.4 kilogrammes of cocaine into Nigeria from the Republic of Chile.

Spokesman of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed that count 1 states that, Fong Chui Sen and Wang Richard male adults, between the months of March and July 2010 at Ibadan and Kano, Nigeria, without lawful authority conspired to import 450.400 kg of cocaine into Nigeria from Republic of Chile and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 14 (b) of the NDLEA Act, CAP N30 Laws of the Federation 2004.

When the charges were read to the accused, they all pleaded not guilty.� After listening to the submissions of the counsel the judge fixed the hearing date for September 6 to 10, 2010, while bail hearing for the accused persons has been fixed for Wednesday, August 18.

The accused persons, Fong Chui Sen, Wang Richard, and Inua Mohammed, were arrested last month by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) following intelligence from the British Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.
