Just change the battery. Overcharging kills. I know because I've experience it!

Changing the battery may do ,But on the Contrary it is advised to always used your Laptop connected to AC/DC source for a lasting battery life.

When not in Use ,wrap it carefully and store at not too high or low a temperature.
I agreed also with not leaving your laptop plugged on continually to AC or DC.
