The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Kaduna State has flayed Vice-President Namadi Sambo and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Dahiru Musdapher, for allegedly frustrating efforts to release copies of the Appeal Court judgment involving its governorship candidate and that of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

CPC said its candidate, Alhaji Haruna Saeed, petitioned the CJN over the refusal of the Kaduna Appeal Court to release copies of the judgment, adding that up till now, no action was taken by the CJN's office over the issue.

The party said: The Appeal Court failed or deliberately refused to sign and release the copies of the judgment for fear of being ridiculed by the Supreme Court because the judgment was condemnable. In a statement made available to reporters yesterday in Kaduna, CPC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Yaro, said: Although CPC and its candidate, Alhaji Haruna Saeed, had petitioned the CJN, it is now three weeks from the date of the judgment and one week before the expiration for an appeal to be filed, we are yet to hear of any action taken by the office of the CJN.

Deliberate refusal to release copies of the Kaduna State governorship judgment read on December 11, 2011 by Justice Abdul Aboki of the Court of Appeal has rendered CPC hopeless to file its appeal at the Supreme Court.

The failure of the Appeal Court to sign and release the copies of the judgment was a confirmation of the widespread allegation on the involvement of Vice-President Namadi Sambo in election tribunal matters in Kaduna State.
