Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who was declared the winner of the governorship re-run by polling a total of 275,253 votes to the other 13 contestants, will be sworn in today (Monday).

But close sources told our reporter on the condition of anonymity, that “I don’t think Oga will like the swearing in to be flamboyant, he will prefer a low key inauguration.”

The new Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Zai-Laye Smith, who was recently sworn in by the acting Governor Prince Sam Obi, is expected to perform the swearing ceremony, while Obi, himself had already put finishing touches to his handing over note.

Meanwhile, a former member of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Misan Ukubeyinje, has described Uduaghan’s victory as “victory for the people of Abigborodo, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.”

Ukubeyinje in a statement, yesterday, said “I am calling on all Deltans to give him maximum support so that he completes all projects he started. I also appeal to other contestants to accept the results of the election as sportsmen.

“In all elections, there must be a winner. It is not a victor and vanquish situation. This election is a victory for democracy and the Independent national electoral Commission, INEC, should be commended for a great improvement in the conduct of elections, particularly in Delta State,” he said.
