As the general election draws near, Ogun State may witness an unprecedented electoral manipulation in favour of a particular group believed to be well connected to the powers that be.

Impeccable sources close to the various actors and campaign groups disclosed to Daily Sun yesterday that two sets of arrangements were being made to rig the elections in favour of Adetunji Olurin of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the sources, the battle for the soul of the state had already been declared a do-or-die affair, with the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) already under intense pressure to rig elections for the PDP candidate.
To perfect this arrangement, a meeting of top notchers of the concerned group, which is believed to be linked with former president Olusegun Obasanjo was held yesterday morning, where the resolution to win at all cost and with every means was endorsed.

Daily Sun further gathered that another meeting was held between last Saturday night and yesterday morning in Abeokuta, where the decision to pocket the state INEC was taken and to pave way for the actualization of the sinister motive to rig the election in favour of the PDP candidate. The source revealed that the Commissioner of Police in the state might be forced out due to a premeditated violent crisis targeted at a particular party.

The purpose of the crisis, according to our investigations, was to portray the serving Commissioner of Police as incompetent to pave way for a preferred candidate, who would be of South-west origin. To incapacitate the opposition party, several of their members would be arrested by the incoming Police Commissioner before the election date.

Efforts of the group, it was gathered, also included setting machinery in motion to ascertain the alleged underground romance between one of the opposition governorship candidates and a major gladiator in the state.
