    Default Imo State Governorship Election Result



    Update : 8:00 Pm, 27th April 2011 ; The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Imo State, Professor Enock Akobundo has declared the result of Imo State Governorship election inconclusive.
    Waiting for further instruction from Abuja .

    Further Update : 30th April 2011 ;

    THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after its meeting in Abuja on Friday, decided to hold fresh elections in four local government areas of Imo State where the conduct of the last gubernatorial election was ruled inconclusive.
    INEC also decided that there would be repeat election in Orji ward in Owerri North Local Government Area where there was problem during Tuesday’s election on Friday, May 6, 2011.


    Update after the supplementary election on the 6th of May 2011 : After the combined result of April 26th and May 6th Poll. Rochas Okorocha of APGA has been declared winner of the Imo state Governorship election.
    He won by 336,859 votes.

    In Imo State, early results showed APGA’s candidate Chief Rochas Okorocha leading in Owerri municipality and parts of Owerri North.
    Governorship election results in Ihitte -Oha polling units in Owerri North showed APGA with 105, PDP 1 and ACN 6 votes. In Ihitte-Oha unit 12 Owerri North, PDP 27, APGA 84, ACN 3. In Ikenegbu Girls Owerri in Owerri Municipal council, PDP 21, APGA128, ACN16, while at Ikenegbu Secondary School, Owerri Municipal PDP 41, APGA 243, ACN33.

    Out of the 21 LGA declared for IMO STATE
    APGA wins 11 and PDP 9, 1 LGA has been cancelled. 4 More Local governments is yet to be announced.

    As at 4:00 Pm today, results are still been collated.
