Grammy-winning singer Celine Dion who been in the hospital in the United States gave birth on Saturday to twin boys.

The 42-year-old Dion had the fraternal twins by Caesarean section shortly after 11 a.m. at a Florida hospital.

Celine's spokesperson said the family is very thrilled about the newborns:"Celine, Rene and their son Rene-Charles are thrilled".

The babies were born healthy but premature and will spend the next few days in an incubator.

Dion, best known for hits such as "My Heart Will Go On," was hospitalized earlier this month on the recommendation of her doctors to prevent the early delivery of her babies.

The newborn boys are currently unnamed.
Dion is due to return to Las Vegas in March for a three-year concert residency at Caesar's Palace
