    Default 186 Nigerians to receive National Honours



    Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the list of Nigerians that are to receive the National Honours Award. The National Honours Award Committee announced that 186 people are to be conferred with the awards but no one would receive the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), Nigeria's highest national honour, which is reserved for serving heads of state.

    The breakdown of awardees for each honour are:-
    - Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) - 3 awardees
    - Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) - 13 awardees
    - Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) - 27 awardees
    - Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) - 43 awardees
    - Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) - 46 awardees
    - Member Federal Republic (MFR) - 22 awardees
    - Member Order of the Niger (MON) award - 25 awardees
    - Federal Republic Medal - 7 awardees

    Joseph Wayas, the Senate President in the Second Republic, Rear Admiral Mike Akhigbe, Chief of General Staff, and Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, the Chief Justice of the Federation are to receive the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) award,

    Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ex-Finance Minister; Hon Patricia Etteh, an ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives; Hon Ghali Umar Na’Abba, an ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives; and Chief Mike Oghiadhome, Chief of Staff to President are to receive the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) honour.

    Some awardees for the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) honour are;
    - Alhaji Balarabe Musa,
    - Alhaji Lateef Jakande - ex-governor of Lagos state,
    - Bukola Saraki - Governor of Kwara State,
    - Brig. Gen David Bamgboye - first military governor of Kwara State
    - Dr Sam Egwu - former minister of Education
    - Chief Felix Ibru - ex-governor of Delta State
    - Prof Tam David-West - ex-minister of Petroleum
    - Prof Ben Nwabueze - Constitutional lawyer
    - Prof Barth Nnaji - Special Adviser on Power

    Awardees for the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) honour include;
    - Odein Ajumogobia - Minister of Foreign Affairsand his counterpart,
    - Jubril Martins-Kuye - Minister of Commerce and Industry

    The date for the awards event has not been announced.

    Is bthat Patriciah Etteh that I saw in the list?.Why not they consider Ibori and Buhari (Former speaker of the house and Toronto certificate faker)?.

    All this political awards sef. Instead of them to give Nigerians that are making us pride they are giving awards to proven thiefs.
