Delta State Police Command, on Monday, confirmed the arrest of no fewer than 50 persons over various electoral malpractices during the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who disclosed this to our correspondents on Monday through a telephone interview said that the suspects were arrested from various polling units in Delta State
She said those arrested included those who snatched ballot boxes, caused a breach of the peace and other acts that could undermine the election.
The police image maker said the suspects are undergoing investigations after which they will be charged to court.
She used the opportunity to warn all, particularly the youths, not to go against the rules as police will deal with anyone who breaches the law.
