Although Nintendo is enjoying a relatively fruitful holiday season with the NES Classic Edition and Super Mario Run, the real moment of truth will arrive when the firm releases its next new console in March, the Switch. While details were previously scarce, it appears that Nintendo has revealed details for upcoming events that will be held outside of Japan.
The debut of the Switch a couple of months ago did offer the world its first glimpse at Nintendo's new hybrid console, but it didn't really offer too many details when it came to price, launch titles, and more. Nintendo would later announce that they would unveil more details about the console at 'Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017' that would be held in January. Since the event will be held exclusively in Japan, Nintendo also announced plans to organize smaller events in the US and Europe - and now it appears that a schedule has been released.
As of now, the Switch tour will touch down in nine cities, with a primary focus in North America. At each tour stop, the event will be held over the course of three days, with the first two of the days of the stop dedicated to those specially invited by Nintendo. The last day will be open to the public and with limited space, it is being recommended to arrive early.
The dates for the Nintendo Switch for North America:
New York – Jan 13-15
Toronto – Jan 27-29
Washington, D.C. – Feb 10-12
Chicago – Feb 17-19
San Francisco – Feb 24-26
Los Angeles – Mar 3-5
If you are unable to catch the tour at on the previously listed dates, Nintendo will also have the Switch and its titles available to play at PAX South in San Antonio, PAX East in Boston, or SXSW in Austin - with the dates for each event listed below.
San Antonio – Jan 27-29 (PAX South)
Boston – Mar 10-12 (PAX East)
Austin – Mar 16-18 (SXSW)
The Nintendo Switch will arrive sometime in March 2017.
