Vice President Namadi Sambo said on Saturday, November 13, that the Federal Government is on the right path in her quests to ensuring progressive national development.
While receiving the British Member of Parliament [MP] and Minister for the Department of International Development (DFID), Mr. Stephen O'Brien who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, the Vice President commended Britain's renewed efforts to increased trade relations between her and Nigeria.
On the conduct of a credible election, Vice President Sambo said that the administration is resolutely committed to transparent election and, accordingly had ensured that there were competent operatives on ground.
Vice President Sambo also said that the Federal Government has commenced the process of equipping the police to address any security challenge, mobilizing the non-governmental organizations and civil society groups to properly educate the citizenry on the need to ensure compliance to electoral laws which shall fast-track free and fair elections.
The Vice President also informed the mp that positive efforts are geared towards elimination of e-crimes, and ensuring best practices in the conduct of government business.
He noted the improvement recorded in adjudication and government efforts towards effective police reform. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Odein Ajumogobia and the British MP told state house correspondents that he was in the country as a follow-up to the earlier discussions with the vice president in the United Kingdom.
