The United States Consul-General, Mr. Joseph Stafford, has disclosed the reasons his country is deepening its relationship with Nigeria in the ongoing fight against narcotic drugs, money laundering and organised crimes.
These, according to him, were the unwavering commitment to drug control fundamentals and demonstrable cooperation of the leadership of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, as key factors responsible for the blossoming relationship between both countries in narcotics control.
The United States envoy to Nigeria stated this during a farewell reception for three members of the consulate in Lagos.
He explained that the wonderful cooperation, commitment and impressive progress of the NDLEA made Nigeria to be delisted from the drug Majors List by the United States government
He said the outgoing officials should be proud of the work they had done in Nigeria.
Stafford said: “Though you are leaving us soon, you can be proud of the work you have done in Nigeria; your collaborative efforts with the NDLEA and the successes recorded.”
