One of Nigeria’s biggest churches, House on The Rock, headed by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, is touching so many lives this festive season by distributing food and gift items to the less privileged in the society.

The convener of world’s biggest gospel concert, The Experience, fed over 12, 000 people during its programme tagged ‘The House on The Rock Christmas Share.’ The spokesman of the church said they were only following the example laid down by Jesus Christ, who fed the poor while he was on earth.

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has taken it upon himself to feed the poor and bring smiles to their faces and give them hope just as Jesus Christ did. In line with this, he commissioned different teams to visit designated areas with gift and food items”.

On Saturday December 17, different teams from the church visited the following areas: Olodi Apapa, Bariga and Isale Eko with 600 bags of rice, frozen chickens and several gallons of groundnut oil with a mission to feed over 1, 800 families. The exercise witnessed an unexpected turn out of residents of these areas, who were full of thanks to the church for deeming it fit to remember them during this festive period.

Attention shifted to General Hospital in Lagos Island. on Friday, December 22. Different sets of provisions were distributed to the patients alongside great words of encouragement. The next day, which is Saturday December 24, four different care centres, such as Old People’s Home, Rehabilitation Centre, Remand and Destitute Home on Adekunle Street, were visited in Lagos with gifts and food items. The same gesture was replicated on December 25 and 29 at different places.
