THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reiterated its commitment to the championship aspiration of the junior national team, the Flying Eagles, at the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Colombia.
Speaking in an interview with The Moment shortly after Nigeria's victory against England at the competition, the Acting Secretary General of the NFF, Musa Amadu said that the Glass House is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that the country wins the World Youth Championship trophy for the first time.
'We are not loosing focus because we have put everything on ground to get to this level,' he said. 'We took our time to prepare the team both in foreign and local training tours and here the results are coming.'
On the one hundred per cent record so far recorded by the team in Colombia, Amadu believed that the boys are just giving back what the federation has invested in the team in its build-up to the competition. The Flying Eagles mauled Guatemala 5-0, beat Croatia 5-2 and humbled Saudi Arabia 2-0 to advance to second round of the competition, where they piped England 1-0 to reach the quarter finals.
The Flying Eagles will on Sun- day face perhaps their strongest opposition yet at the Colombia tournament, when they play France in one of the quarter- final pairings.
