Nigeria's Falconets beat Japan 2-1 in their second game at the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany. The Falconets drew England 1-1 in their opening match and now have four points from two matches and are now in a good position to qualify for the second round of the tournament.

Nigeria opened the scoring in the 6th minute after the Falconet's Amarachi Okoronkwo ran past a Japanese defender and put the ball in the back of the Japanese goal.

In the 17th minute a cross from Ebere Orji found Desire Oparanozie who slotted the ball past the Japanese goalkeeper. Japan pulled one back in the 62nd minute.

The Falconets are to play against Mexico on Wednesday.
