Kenya national team Harambee Stars will depart for Abuja, Nigeria on Sunday for an international friendly match against the Super Eagles on Wednesday during the FIFA friendly day.
The friendly will take place days after Kenya plays Angola and Nigeria host Ethiopia in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Football Kenya technical committee chairman Hussein Swaheh told the Standard that Nigeria will pay for air tickets, accommodation and internal expenses for the team while in Nigeria.
“We have already sent a list of players to travel to Abuja for ticketing purposes. The team will depart for Abuja on Sunday March 27,” he said.
According to press reports, Nigeria has earlier organized a friendly with Zambia, but the deal didn’t go through while Kenya was anticipating to play East Africa neighbours Tanzanian or Sudan after declining to play Ghana this week before the AFCON qualifiers.
