The state commissioner for sports has assured the Oluyole Warriors’ fans that the club’s current head coach will still be with the team next season
Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Yomi Oke has disclosed that everything possible is being done to ensure that incumbent 3SC coach, Gbenga Ogunbote is handed a new contract ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Local media is awash with reports of Ogunbote being linked with several elite division clubs in Nigeria but Oke hinted that Ogunbote has shown the willingness to continue working with the Oluyole Warriors and that the state government is doing all within its powers to ensure that he stays in charge of the team.
“I want to assure all Oyo State indigenes and particularly fans of 3SC that Ogunbote will still be in charge of our darling club next season. We are doing everything possible to keep him and since he has told us that he would like to continue working with us if his conditions are met, we are ready to do that.," said Oke.
"He submitted his technical report for the past season some weeks ago and this is currently being studied by the management of the club towards ensuring that 3SC come back with a big bang next season."
