Chippa United Goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has been selected for the squad that will face Algeria in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier. This is his 2nd call up this season; he represented Nigeria at the Rio Olympic Games, which were held in Brazil, earlier this year.
Akpeyi missed the first two league games of the season, as he was in on national duty has only conceded 4 goals in the league thus far, and managed to keep 2 clean sheets in seven games.
Nigeria who were drawn in Group B, will be locking horns with Algeria at home, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on 12 November, 2016. The World Cup will be played in Russia in 2020.
