Default PPA (Peoples Progressive Alliance) absorbed by PDP (Peoples Democratic Party)

It is no longer rumour that the former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has rejoined his former political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former governor, who has confirmed this to the press in Abuja, added that the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) he formed three years ago has dissolved into the PDP.

At a meeting to formalize the fusion of the two political parties involving the national executives of the two political parties in Abuja, Kalu, who is chairman of the PPA board of trustees, said he was coming back to the party based on his belief that PDP has changed.

The chairman of the PDP, Okwesilieze Nwodo welcomed them and promised that the PDP will enthrone internal democracy, adding that the chains that had held the party back have been broken.

The former Abia state governor said he was returning gallantly to the party because he believes the new leadership of the party will correct the way things were done in the party.

Adding his voice to this, the national chairman of the PPA, Larry Esin said all the members of the PPA were coming back to the PDP because they believed they have a common goal.

He said the party has put in place an online registration exercise to ensure nobody is restricted. He also predicted that the new PDP will create an enabling environment that will bring up the party back to the people

Kalu, the 7th governor of Abia state, left PDP in 2006 after he fell out with former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He thereafter, formed PPA in April that year and contested as the partys presidential candidate in 2007.

He was two-term executive governor of the state from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007 under the platform of PDP.

Meanwhile, the first national chairman of the Democratic Peoples Party, retired Lieutant General Jerry Useni has refuted claims that the party has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He emphasized that the party is intact and is presently discussing with the Action Congress (AC) and the Peoples Democratic Party but has not merger with any party.

He dismissed those who claimed that the party is dead as miscreants who have been sacked by the DPP.

What is the secret about this PDP that estranged members are rushing back to rejoin, and non-members scrambling to join? Is the PDP such a great party in terms of internal cohesion and fairness, or in terms of the achievements of its members who are public office holders? There appears to be NO strong reasons in the area of achievements to justify the big rush for the PDP membership . Then, why? Someone once gave a 'Jankara' type of reason: PDP has all the resources at its disposal, legitimate and otherwise, to determine who wins at elections. I think I queue behind the Jankara man.

The fact remains :Lack of vision and quest for food,Some of them just discover that the people there are chopping more than them and they want to position themselves to chop too.
As the Hyenas gather around this tiny flesh call PDP,watch !!,for her end is nearer than before.
