The Lagos state governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola insists that state policing remains the most viable way of effectively combating crime in Nigeria.

Governor Fashola made this submission today at the 4th town hall meeting on security put together by the state government and the state's security trust fund.

The governor thanked corporate partners and individuals who have supported the fund and noted that security is best ensured when policing is community-based.
