The National Executive Committee [NEC] of the PDP has accepted the resignation of its National Chairman, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo and empowered his deputy, Bello Mohammed to act as the National Chairman of the party.
This was part of the resolutions reached in the party's 56th NEC meeting which took place in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting, which lasted for around 40 minutes, had the President, the Vice President, Senate President, and several governors in attendance.
Speaking with journalists after short meeting, members of the national executive committee said they are satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
It could be recalled that an Enugu High Court granted an interim order restraining the national chairman of the PDP, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, from parading himself as chairman and member of the party (PDP).
