In the count down to last presidential election, some Nigerians desirous of change in the polity actively campaigned for the electoral successes of the then acting president based on strong desire for some breadth of fresh air that can guarantee adequate supply of highly distilled oxygen (O2) to refresh the country from choking poisonous gasses!

They reasoned that because the country had been bastardized by successive governments, there was the urgent need for drastic change to do away with the era of mediocrity and sleaze hitherto strangulating the country’s jugular veins almost to the point of death. In short, they made a categorical statement that enough was enough?

Well to a larger extent, Mr. President had not disappointed , as the combinations of bad odours comprising: Carbon Monoxide, Carbon dioxide and Hydrogen Sulfide(CO,CO2 & H2S) suffocating the polity in the last fifty or so years had mercifully given way to breadth of fresh air; which extend to all the nooks and crannies of the country, thus engendering a sigh of relief

First, power road map unveiled sensationally prior to the start of presidential election had been actualized fully. And all the IPP projects have been completed and put to good usage, leading to increment in the available power in the national grid well beyond projected target. Of course, the Road Map that was said to be the solution to the lingering energy crises in the country had indeed been put to a practical test and proven to be workable; thereby shaming those incurable cynics!

Pervasive Security situation in the country is now history. Thank to the marvelous leadership of Mr. Fresh air. Nigerians can now indeed go to sleep with both eyes closed. No more arm robberies, No kidnappings and Boko haram. Niger-Delta militancy and all other forms of insurrections and threat to peaceful coexistence is no longer our portion. The lingering Jos crises are now history, courtesy of president’s swift and decisive intervention immediately after inauguration.

Salary increment that was promised Nigerians about a year ago has been implemented without qualms, as can be seen from the way many Nigerians are smiling to their respective banks. In fact, excruciating Life styles for average Nigerian salary earner and many rural dwellers struggling daily to earn a living is gone for good. The gap between the rich and the poor has been bridged. No recognizable differences can be seen among Nigerians as far as economic development is concern. The middle class being the engine room for economic growth too, is also back in full force. All thanks to Mr. Fresh air!

In July 2011, electricity tariff was reduced by 50% to be reduced further to 100% by November, all in the effort to ensure adequate breadth of fresh air for all Nigerians regardless of status or creed. The controversial power proves that investigated the looting of over 18billion dollars of our money was acted upon with dispatch. Most of those caught red-handed in the ruinous saga are now serving various jail terms while the master minds are already sentenced to death by hanging in full public glares!

And gladly too, corruption is no longer endemic in the polity. Even one of the greatest looters of our common patrimony-Obasanjo had certified Mr. Fresh air to be eminently qualified to fight the cankerworm of corruptions clogging the wheel of progress and steadily pushing our beloved country onto the Berge of precipices.

Budget implementation is now 98% year in and year out. All road contracts awarded have been executed and new ones are up and coming. None of the contractors owe government a penny. The Abuja-Lokoja death trap has been completed; ditto Kano-Maiduguri among others, and all these are courtesy of Mr. Fresh air’s Forthright and dynamic leadership.

I do not know what the Joint Action Forum (JAF) was protesting for the other day, when Mr. Fresh Air had since reversed the Privatization and deregulation of our collective patrimony right from the military era to date, against the back-drop of the revelation of senate prove which exposed shoddy deals that short changed Nigeria of her highly priced assets.
