The Senate has admitted three new senators to fill up the vacant seats in its chamber.
The new lawmakers replace Senators Tawal Wada and Peto Dukku both from Gombe state who lost their lives in April 2010, and Senator Bala Mohammed who is now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory [FCT].
The Senate President urged the new lawmakers to see to it that they uphold and defend the constitution of Nigeria.
The Senate President, Senator David Mark also announced the request of Senator Uche Chukwumerije formerly of the Progressive People's Alliance [PPA], to move to the side of the majority in the chambers, which is the People's Democratic Party.
Senator Uche Chukwumerijie is the sixth senator in the opposition to decamp to the People's Democratic Party [PDP] bringing the number of opposition members in the senate from 22 to 16.
