“This is the time we members of the National Assembly must rise above the murky aqua of political jingoism, religious bigotry and ethnic atavisms and become the statesmen we should be and save the ship of the State from enmeshing itself in a miasma of macabre dance”
“I am not speaking against President Yar’Adua or in favour of the Vice, but I speak in support of the constitution,”
“What is all the judicial macossa dance about Mr. Vice President performing presidential functions and yet cannot function as an Acting president?”
“I don’t want to hear that the hands of the National Assembly are manacled due to the discretionary provision of section 145."
"I will bw bewilderd and deposited in th cul de-sac of Political laceration If the PDP goes ahead to n(do) What will contradict the principles of the 1999 Constitution."
These are the sayings of Patrick Obahiagbon, the House of Representatives member who once described a Senate-House row as “megalomaniacal”,
Although I am still checking the dictionary for the meaning of some words,I well understood this;
The National assembly is in political macabre dance entangled by jingoisms and in my own way ,the only thing that will save the house is Personal integrity instead of Party integrity.Let each member serve his conscience and the the good of His/Her Electorate instead of selfish party ambitions.Even though this advise may cost them third or second term.
