Default 7 Things That Cannot Change

There are 7 things that will never change forever and ever. They are like the constants in Mathematics. For instance, the pi has always and will always be 22/7. In Einstein’s Energy equation (E=mc2), the constant c, does not and will never change. Why is this important for unlocking your destiny? Because if we look around us today, people’s lives are falling apart, marriages are failing at an alarming, young people are getting out of control and many people are living in fear and confusion. It ought not to be so but in a world that is constantly changing, we must build our lives around the 7 things that never change.
Here are the 7 things that never change:
The love of God. The greatest security for the human soul is not life insurance but a firm belief that God loves you just they way you are. Two things that changed my life permanently were the truth that God loves me unconditionally and the rich atmosphere of parental love and acceptance under which I grew up. Even though I grew up as a gifted child, occasionally, I felt I was not good enough and that something might have been wrong with me. But then, each time I came home, Dad and Mom reassured me that I was a very special person on a very unique earthly mission. It is a tragedy if your child feels rejected outside the home and returns home to also face rejection and criticism from you. Parental criticism and rejection are more destructive to a child than marijuana. I’ve met many teenage girls who want to run away from home. If you are battling with a feeling of rejection, I want to reassure you that God loves you unconditionally. He is not holding a hammer over your head to strike you down because of your mistakes. You may have stumbled and may be carrying a heavy load of guilt and regret, but you can still approach him for forgiveness and emotional healing. No one can persuade God to hate you. God knows how to do everything, but he does not know how to hate. No mother can throw away her baby just because the baby pooh pooh-ed on herself. The love of God for you is like that: it does not change.
The seasons of life. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” When you take the marriage vow, you say, “For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health...” Many people fault this vow. They say it amounts to negative confession. It's not. Rather, it’s a recognition of the fact that there are seasons in life. Life is not always summer. Life is also winter. Winter, like the -20 degrees I experienced in Canada, is never a joke. 99% of the troubles in some people’s lives are due to missed seasons: They did not go to school when they should. They did not marry or invest when they should. They did not build a house when they should, and they did not spend time with their children when they should. And today, that season is gone. They have entered winter without preparation. In tropical Africa, we have two seasons: dry and wet seasons. You require different strategies in life for different seasons. You cannot survive the rainy season with dry season skills and vice versa. During the dry season of your life, be very careful about fires. During the dry season of your life, cultivate your field, plant your seeds and prepare for the rain. Strengthen the physical, emotional, spiritual and financial roof over your life. The worst thing for you is to enter the rainy season without a roof over your head.
Sowing and reaping. What you plant is what you reap. If you plant tomato seed, you reap tomato. If you plant mango seed, what you reap mango fruits. Einstein gave his definition of insanity. Now here’s mine: insanity is when you plant a tomato seed and expect to harvest mango fruit. How can you reap a happy life while you are planting the seeds of unhappiness? How can you become rich when you are planting the seeds of poverty? How can you have a happy home when tearing down your marriage with the seed of unkind words? And how can you hope to live in heaven, when you’re constructing your duplex in hell? That is called self-sabotage.
Light will always overcome darkness. I still don’t understand why people live in dread of witches and wizards. The power of darkness is real but I can assure you that in this world and in the next, darkness will never ever overcome light. If you find yourself in a very dark room, what would you do? Turn on the light, of course! The psalmist said, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid?” You don’t need to spend all that money on native doctors seeking “fortification”! Just turn on the light and go to sleep!
The certainty of death. A poet said, “It is appointed unto man once to die.” Another poet said, “We are constantly in the neighborhood of death.” People have been dying since the beginning of time. People will die today. People will die tomorrow. About three human souls exit the earth every second. Here’s a paradox: Death is the greatest teacher of life. It is OK to use anti-aging technologies, take food supplements and all that but only a fool spends time avoiding death. A wise person spends time preparing for its inevitability. And whether you will reincarnate is immaterial. What you do with this life will determine your fate in the next. Live big. Live worthily. Live right.
Poverty in the land. Prophet Moses told the young nation of Israel, “The poor will always be in the land.” Poverty is not the lack of money but a way of thinking. Moses was not cursing anyone but he knew that poverty thinking is the hardest thing to eliminate from society. The universe is full of unlimited abundance but only a few people muster the courage to think and dare abundance. The “good” poor people live in denial. They believe that poverty is the quickest route to heaven because “it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven,” they say. The “bad” poor people quarrel, steal, cheat, kill, do money rituals, play office politics, and defraud the government for money. But poor people are poor people. That won’t change anytime soon but the good news is that you can choose not to be in the statistic. Read my book on Financial Intelligence! Call Chima on 08033475354 or Kanu or 08033787878 to order.
The Word of God. There are too many ideas, too many opinions, too many religions in the world but what exactly is the word of God? You’d better find out because “heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of God will remain.” The grass withers, the flowers fade but the word of God remains firm forever. To borrow an American phrase, God’s word is one heck of a spiritual rock to which you may anchor your life. Whenever I get into a confusing situation, I pause and ask, “What is God saying?” If God makes you a promise, you can go to sleep and consider it done. It might delay but it will never fail. Never!
So what? Connect your soul, anchor yourself on the these seven things that won’t change if you desire an extraordinary life.
