The police in Ogun have arrested a 38-year-old man, Adelani Ayomide, for allegedly being in possession of 18 human heads.

Ayomide, a resident of Ilaro, was arrested at about 6:48am on Thursday by policemen attached to the Ado-Odo Division while concealing the 18 human skulls in a sack.

The policemen who were conducting checks on vehicles plying the Ado-Odo/Owode Road were said to have apprehended Ayomide who happened along with the sack.

The police said it discovered 18 human skulls upon searching the sack.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the discovery of the skulls and the arrest of the suspect, promised that the suspect will be transferred to the State Department of Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.

Adejobi added that “the commissioner of police, Ikemefuna Okoye, has assured the general public of thorough investigation and prosecution of the guilty parties who are involved.”
