The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA said that it has arrested two people, one male and one female for allegedly being in possession substances, suspected to be cocaine weighing 4.3kg, with a street value of over N60 million at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano state.
The two suspects, identified as Anthony Emeka Nwede and Faith Okonkwo were allegedly arrested with the substances at about 11.30 pm at the arrival lounge of the Kano Airport on board a KLM Flight from Brazil via Amsterdam to Kano late last month.
At an emergency press conference in Kano, the Area Commander, Mr Sumaila Ethan told newsmen that both suspects allegedly concealed the substances in pieces of pampers, as well as in the handle of six trolley bags in order to beat security at the airport.
The NDLEA Area Commander said the suspects would be arraigned before a court of law for prosecution at the end of the on-going investigations.
