The Special Task Force [STF] in Jos, the Plateau state capital have arrested twenty eight persons in connection with the attack on Yelwa Zango village near the University of Jos student�s hostel in Jos North local government area of Plateau State, as the attackers were overpowered by members of the Special Task Force.

Commander of the task force, Brigadier General Hassan Umaru, while briefing newsmen revealed that the task force received a distress call early Sunday morning that the village was under attack by unknown gunmen and redeployed members of the task force to the area.

On getting to the village, the attackers had murdered a corporal policeman with the mobile force and set his body on fire.

After a shooting exchange with the attackers twenty eight suspects were arrested and dangerous weapons were recovered from them.

Meanwhile, following the reported killings of some 43 Igbo traders in Jos, Plateau State, a case has been made for a decisive action by the Federal Government to help the state government stem the crisis from escalating to a tribal conflict.
