THE Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has accused soldiers deployed to Anambra State to fight kidnapping, armed robbery and other related violent crimes of secretly killing its members, especially those in Onitsha, the commercial nerve-centre of the state.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday, MASSOB Onitsha Region Four Administrator, Chief Arinze Igbani, said that their members, without committing any crime, were being arrested and executed secretly by soldiers in the area.

He said three of his members, Emeka Eze, Anayo Igbokwe, and Christopher Ude, were arrested by the soldiers at their different locations, adding that their whereabouts were still unknown.

The MASSOB leader however, alleged that the soldiers may have perfected plans to use their members for ritual, arguing that they supposed to have charged them to court if they committed any crime.

“We have no doubt in our mind that the soldiers want to use the people for something sinister, otherwise, after five days of their arrest, they supposed to have charged them to court for proper trial. We are calling on Governor Peter Obi and the Army Chief, General Ihejirika, to caution their men to leave MASSOB members alone.

Igbani also called on the international human rights organisations to come to their aid by calling the Nigerian government and the Army to order.

He revealed that one of the members was passing through a military base when he was arrested and beaten silly by the soldiers.
