An Area Court sitting in Abuja on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old man, Moses John, to three months imprisonment for defrauding one Juliet Ezenyaka of ₦58,255.
Mr John and three others now at large were charged with conspiracy and cheating.
The police prosecutor, Egwu Clement, said the offences were contrary to Sections 79 and 322 of the Penal Code.
Mr Clement had told the court that on September 9, the accused accosted Ezenyaka and lured her to his house situated at Angwa Cement Village, Abuja.
He told the court that the accused collected ₦10,255 cash from the victim and recharge cards valued at ₦48,000 with a promise to make her rich.
The convict had pleaded guilty to the charges.
The Area Court Judge, Abdullahi Mohammed, sentenced the accused to three months imprisonment with an option of ₦4,000 fine.
Mohammed also ordered the convict to pay ₦58,255 to the victi
