The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Rafiz Hingim, today finally ordered an investigation of last month’s police murder, in Delta State, of former gubernatorial contestant, Chief Ogbe Onokpite.
And he has asked the same Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Tsafe, who has already reported that the deceased was guilty, to “investigate” the case.

But the family of the deceased is protesting the IG’s order, and called on him to re-assign the case to another team in the Force Headquarters Abuja, which should also investigate the role of the Commissioner.

They pointed out that it was the same commissioner who, “without any investigation whatsoever, called a Press Conference a few hours after the incident, wherein he emphatically stated that Chief Ogbe Onokpite was killed in a cross-fire
