Multiple bombs exploded on Thursday in Pompomari Ndjamena area of Damaturu, throwing residents into a panic.

Residents ran for safety as guns boomed from 3.15p.m. to 6p.m after the blasts.

A combined team of soldiers and policemen quickly condoned off the area of the attack.

The security agencies authorities have yet to give a casualty figure from the incident, although they have intensified patrol in the city.

Most residents of the state capital remained indoors and businesses remained closed.

The Borno Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Lawal Tukur, could not be reached for comments as his phones were switched off.

Three people suspected to be assembling bombs were wounded on Monday when the devices exploded in the same area.

Many people, including securitymen, were killed in November in multiple bomb explosions in Damaturu.
