Following the spate of threat ultimatums issued recently by both the Boko Haram sect and a group alleged to be Niger Delta Youths, the Hausa community in Akwa Ibom State has debunked the notion that all Muslims are members of Boko Haram.
In an interview with National Mirror in his office, the leader of the Hausa community in the state, Alhaji Hassan Sadauki said flurries of accusations peddled by both Muslim and Christian leaders are capable of causing disunity in the country.
Alhaji Sadauki said they had vowed never to support the spate of bombings in the country and would not provide haven for somebody with ulterior motives to perpetrate crime in the state.
The Hausa leader appealed to Christian leaders not to see the Christmas Day bombings as a war initiated by Muslims against Christians. He added that no group or individual has the power to ask people to leave a particular geographical area as that would tantamount to dividing Nigeria.
He pointed out that the Hausa community in the state was never in any way seeing Akwa Ibom State as their second home, but a place they would ensure they contribute to the already peaceful co-existence among Akwa Ibom people. He noted that the peaceful relationship between Hausa community and Akwa Ibom people was recently acknowledge with the conferment of a traditional title Eti Ufan Uyo on him.
