The Jigawa State police command has confirmed the death of four suspected kidnappers who were arrested after they abducted the senior wife of the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hajiya Halima Ahmad Sarawa.

The Police Public Relations Officer,ASP Abdul Jinjiri, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the incident.

He said all the suspects died at the hospital as a result of the injuries they sustained after an exchange of fire with police officers on duty.

The suspected kidnappers are, Ali Zaria from Kaduna State, Jumare Gumel from Jigawa State, others are Kenith Luke and Perdnan Rubus all from Rivers State.

Jinjiru further revealed that none of the policemen or indigenes of the village sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.

The abducted woman had also been taken back safely to her husband.

The police spokesperson called on the people of the area to go about their normal business as there is no any cause for alarm. He said the police will ensure the security of their lives and property.
