Honorable Abel Oshevire, a member of the Delta state House of Assembly representing Ughelli North II constituency has been kidnapped.

His abduction is coming barely twenty-four hours Dr. Jhalil Balewa, the son of Nigeria's former Prime Minister Alhaji Tafawa Balewa was released after his abduction in Abuja by kidnappers on Saturday, August 28 in Abuja.

The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, Mr. Charles Moka, confirmed the incident.

Honorable Oshevire was abducted by three armed men immediately after he left church in Benin City, the capital of Edo state on Sunday August 29. According to eye witness at the venue of the incident, said the armed men forced Oshevire into his Prado Jeep car and sped off. The incident was said to have taken place in the premises of World Paradise Church located around Agbor Motor Park, on the Benin-Asaba highway.

Already victim's relatives have established contact with abductors who had initially demanded N60m ransom, but has been reduced it to N30m.
