Theres been a reshuffling of duties at the Nigerian Army with Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirikas approval of the redeployment of some senior army officers.

The redeployment follows recent retirements and appointments of officers.

In a statement signed by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier -General Chris Olukolade, the affected officers are Major -General J.O. Shoboiki who is now the General- Officer Commanding [GOC] 1 division, Kaduna. Brigadier -General M.D Abubakar (GOC) 2 division; Major -General S.O Idoko, (GOC) 3 division; Brigadier -General K. Minimah (GOC) 81 division; Major General S.Y Bello (GOC) 82 division; Brigadier-General M.A Nasamu, Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison; and Colonel E.J Atewe, Commander Brigade of Guards.

Also affected are Major-General C.O Onwuamaegbu, who is now the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, while Major-General M.A Yerima moves to the defense Headquarters as Chief of Training and Operations. Major-General C.O Omoregie is the new Commander of the Joint Task Force.

The statement adds that new Principal Staff Officers at the Army Headquarters include Major- General O. Akinyemi, Chief of Policy and Plans; Major General L.P Ngubane Chief of Training and Operations.

Others are Major-General B.S Usara, Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation; Major -General B.C Azunrunwa Chief of Logistics; and Major-General A.B Maitama, Chief of administration.

The statement directs all affected officers to resume at their new posts immediately.
