Abia State government has announced a N5 million compensation for anyone who can provide useful information that would lead to the arrest of Obioma Nwankwo (a.k.a Osisi Ka Nkwu).

Nwankwo is believed to be responsible for the increasing wave of crime in the state in recent time.
The government urged anyone with vital information that could lead to his arrest to volunteer such to the authorities, assuring the people that the information would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

The state Police Command had earlier declared Nwankwo wanted in connection with frequent cases of kidnappings, armed robbery, despoil, murder and mentoring kidnappers in the state.
A press statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Jonathan Johnson, advised that anybody who had information that could lead to his whereabouts or arrest should report to the nearest police station or the Public Relations Department, Room 8, State Headquarters, Umuahia.

Describing Nwankwo as dangerous, armed and deadly, the police said the fugitive, who is dark in complexion, speaks English and Igbo languages fluently, hails from Ugwuati Ukwa West.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Tourism and National Development, Hon. Dim Uchenna, yesterday revealed that security had been tightened in the state and that the government had distributed over 130 vehicles to security agencies.

Uchenna also said that the culture carnival slated for December in the state was going to hold without hitch, assuring the public that security of visitors and tourists would be guaranteed.
Speaking at a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and National Development, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, in Abuja, Uchenna solicited financial support from the ministry for the carnival.

“We seek to inform the minister that the parent ministry should help us in the organisation of the carnival and also financially, so that the set goal can be achieved,” he said.
