Few days after Mobil Pegasus School Headmistress, Mrs Lakmir Tom Bush, was abducted in a broad daylight operation at Eket, father of Akwa Ibom State Assembly Speaker, Pa Sunday Etuk has also been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Elder Sunday, according to report, was abducted yesterday night by gunmen at about 2 a.m. in his village, Asang, Affaha Offiong in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

According to report, the seventy-year-old father was said to be sleeping in his compound with members of his family when the gunmen came calling amidst several gun shots which shook the entire community before he was eventually whisked away.

Report has it also that a policeman attached to the septuagenarian was killed while another officer sustained several gunshot wounds. The kidnappers were also said to have made away with a new 1.8 Series Toyota Corolla Saloon car just given to him by his son.

Eyewitness report told our correspondent that many residents of the peaceful Asang Community were roused from their sleep and fled into the bush on hearing the sounds from gun shots fired by the hoodlums.
