INSPECTOR-General of Police (IGP) Hafiz Ringim Monday redeployed 21 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs).

Ringim, in a statement by the acting Force spokesman, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Yemi Ajayi, said Assistant AIG Mohammed Zarewa, who was in charge of Zone 3, Yola, is now Force Secretary.

Of the newly promoted AIG’s, 12 were deployed to the 12 Zonal Commands.

AIG Abubakar Mohammed is to take charge of Zone 1, Kano. AIG Suleiman Fakai, former Force Secretary, moves to Zone 2, Lagos. AIG Ibrahim Madu is to oversee Zone 3, Yola. AIG Aloysiua C is now in charge of Zone 4, Makurdi, AIG Ibrahim B. Ahmed moves to zone 5 Benin. AIG Mohammed D. Abubakar is moved to Zone 6, Calabar.

Others affected by the postings are AIG Felix Ogbandu, who is to head Zone 7, Abuja, AIG Donald Irohan, Zone 8 Lokoja, AIG Mohammed M. Abass, Zone 9, Umuahia, AIG Sokoto Atiku Kafur, Zone 10 Sokoto, AIG Saidu Daya, Zone 11 Osogbo, AIG Johnson Ozu Egbunam Zone 12 Bauchi, AIG Mohammed H. Zarewa now Force Secretary, Abuja, AIG Christopher Ola to Command Police Staff College Jos, AIG Bukar Maina, to Police Intelligence FHQ Abuja, while AIG Danlami Yaradua is to Command Police Academy POLAC Kano.

Also moved are AIG Shehu Babalola to Border Patrol, AIG Madueke Dax Uzu to Medical FHQ, AIG Charles A. Cole to Air Wing FHQ, AIG Idris Hadeja to Works and AIG Jingi Misau Mohammed taking charge at Police Veterinary.

The IGP urged the officers to face the challenge of fighting crime in their various areas with the view to reducing it to the barest minimum. The postings are with immediate effect.
