Kano state Police Command, has from January 1, 2009 to December 30, 2009 killed 16 suspected armed robbers and arrested about 162.

Kano Police Command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Baba Muhammad Azare, who disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters over the weekend , said during the period under review, the Command received about 80 numbers of armed robbery cases.


He added that 16 armed robbers were also killed by the police, noting that seven police personnel were killed and eight injured, while only one person was killed by armed robbers.

_According to the PPRO, about three police weapons were carted away, with 62 arms recovered by the police and 198 ammunitions were recovered from the armed robbers and on car theft cases.
