The Kaduna State government, on Wednesday, sent 15 buses to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to convey students of Kaduna origin back home due to the security challenges currently being witnessed in Maiduguri.

The state government said it was worried by the development in the Borno State capital and the subsequent closure of the University of Maiduguri, which had led to some difficulties in transportation.

The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Reuben Buhari, said Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, had dispatched 15 buses to the Borno State capital for the immediate conveyance of all Kaduna State students back home.

This, he said, was to cushion the transportation difficulties currently being experienced by some of the students.

“By this gesture, the governor is assuring all parents with wards studying in Maiduguri that they should not panic as the state government is adequately providing enough secured transportation back home for all their children.“

The governor, while sympathising with the Borno State Government over the security challenges prayed for a speedy return of peace to the state and, indeed, the entire country.
