I will remembered him as a President who started out well and was derailed by the cabal for their own Selfish gains because he was sick.

I would remember him as somebody who loved power more than himself. Knowing the limitations of his health condition, he should have retired into a quiet and easy life a long time ago. He allowed his health problem to get complicated with pressure of responsibilities and stress. The position of the president anywhere in the world, moreso Nigeria, is not a tea party. May his soul rest in peace.

Yar'dua (whose health status was no fault of his) is arguably to be remembered as the man who used up his last ounce of strength to attempt improving a nation in much need of credible leadership. He died emptied of self pursuits!

As a man who, despite his well cushioned background, refused to sit on the sofa in the air conditioned comfort but chose to sweat it out with the less fortunate; as a man who chose to make his own way in life by becoming a school Teacher instead of diving into his family's wealth; as a man who chose to join NEPU/PRP to be in direct contact with the progressive elements- then hunted and imprisoned for their opposition to the oppressive system-instead of towing the family line; as a man who organized free food and lessons for the less fortunate students from his meager Lecturer's salary at Katsina Poly; as a man who turned down his brother's directive to leave teaching and join the government of which he was No.2; as a man who died doing the best he could for his country.

As a RICH but SICK president, who couldn't complete his tenure as a president.
Also,as a president, who was to weak to be submounted by the shackles of sickness.
May his humble soul rest in peace.

I will remember him as a President who made the word 'Cabal' popular.
