EMINENT businessman and former chairman of the Odua Group of Companies, Otunba Mohammed Jobi Fele is dead. He passed on in the nation’s capital, Abuja on Thursday evening.

His passing on was described by the ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as a great loss to the Yoruba race and the country in general.

His Oyo State counterpart, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala shared similar fond memories of the man whom he also noted helped pull the conglomerate back from the dead.

According to his nephew, Mr. Umar Tajudeen, who spoke with Nigerian the Compass, the business mogul would have been 71, on May 22, 2011.

Jobi-Fele was said to have been on a visit to Abuja when the unfortunate incident happened. His body, which arrived in Lagos last night, is billed to be taken to his home-town, Ikare, in Ondo State for interment today.

His first daughter, Mopelola Ojuolape, recounted the last encounter of the family with the deceased.
