A team official of the Flying Eagles have been reportedly barred from participating in the team's official duties after FIFA allegedly wrote a letter to the NFF complaining that the said official had assaulted a volunteer at the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
The official was alleged to have tried to force the volunteer to allow a Nigerian player, who was not dressed for the match against Saudi Arabia , to sit on the covered stand. The volunteer refused, claiming the seats weren't meant for players but the Nigerian official reportedly tried to still force his way through.
However, the NFF took a drastic measure immediately they received the letter from FIFA and stopped the official from performing any of the team's official duties.
Meanwhile, the NFF on Tuesday announced an extra $1,500 for each player of the Flying Eagles as a motivational boost ahead of their round of 16 match against England on Wednesday.
Leader of Nigeria's delegation to the U-20 World Cup in Colombia and the NFF Technical Committee Chairman Chris Green said each player got $3,000 for winning their three Group D games but added that the extra $1,500 was to motivate the players against England.
Green added that a further $10, 000 was also given to the team's 21 players to share amongst themselves.
