Former England managers Sven-Goran Eriksson and Glenn Hoddle are on a five-man short list to be the new coach of Nigeria, a spokesman for the national federation has confirmed.
Hoddle managed England at the 1998 World Cup, where they reached the last 16 before being knocked out on penalties by Argentina, who are Nigeria's first opponents at the 2010 World Cup.
Eriksson led England at the 2002 and 2006 finals, and was most recently employed as director of football at Notts County.
Nigeria Football Federation spokesman Ademola Olajire told Press Association Sport: 'We have five candidates and Glenn Hoddle is one of them.
'He took his turn (for interview) yesterday and we will make a decision tomorrow evening.'
Olajire confirmed Eriksson among the names of the four other candidates.
The interview panel which comprises of NFF technical committee members, representatives of the Presidential Task Force and the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Patrick Ekeji, is expected to announce a new coach for the national team on Friday.
One other coach yet to be interviewed, Lars Lagerback, is expected to fly in yesterday as well. They are the two remaining coaches among the invited yet to be interviewed.
Those who have passed through the interview panel's drilling include former Senegal manager, Bruno Metsu, former England manager, Glen Hoddle and former Ghana manager, Ratomir Djukovic.
