Nigeria’s Super Eagles regroup yesterday in Abuja for the first time under new coach Stephen Keshi. The squad lodged at the Chelsea Hotel in preparation for two international friendly games against Botswana and Zambia. Though, there are no clear information regarding the training schedule ahead of the double header clashes, unconfirmed reports have it that players will train under the new coach for the first time on Wednesday.

It is however not clear if they will repeat the routine on Thursday. The team will depart for Benin on Friday, where they will engage Botswana in the first of those games, and then leave the day after the game for Kaduna where they will face the Chipolopolo. Keshi, who assisted Shuaibu Amodu in 2001 through 2002, will be shouting instructions from the dugout for the first as the coach in charge. He had earlier coached the Flying Eagles in 2001 before he was appointed Amodu’s assistant. He will be remembered for his heroics in Togo where he qualified them for the World Cup in Germany in 2006
